Matter Cluster 94 (0x005E) Microwave Oven Mode: attributes, commands, events, data types, shadow paths and bridge payload examples.

Matter Cluster 94 — Microwave Oven Mode Cluster

Matter Cluster 94, also written as 0x005E, is the Microwave Oven Mode Cluster. This cluster is derived from the Mode Base cluster and defines additional mode tags and namespaced enumerated values for microwave oven devices.

This cluster is derived from the Mode Base cluster: it inherits the base attributes, commands and data types listed below and adds the cluster-specific values. Where the base definition applies, the base text is used.

Shadow Path Format

Cluster 94 values in the device shadow use this format:

}

Cluster 94 Features

The FeatureMap attribute (1/94/65532) is a bitmap. Each bit set means the device implements that feature and the attributes and commands that depend on it.

BitCodeFeatureConformanceMeaning
0DEPONOFFOnOffXDependency with the OnOff cluster

Example: FeatureMap = 0 means no optional feature is enabled; 1 means every feature listed above is enabled.

Data Types

ModeTag

ValueNameConformanceMeaning
0Auto—The device decides the best mode automatically.
1Quick—Faster than normal, usually at the cost of quality or energy.
2Quiet—Minimises noise.
3LowNoise—Reduced noise compared with normal operation.
4LowEnergy—Reduced energy consumption.
5Vacation—Long-absence mode (reduced activity or safe state).
6Min—Lowest setting of the controlled quantity.
7Max—Highest setting of the controlled quantity.
8Night—Night-time operation.
9Day—Day-time operation.
16384Normal—This is the normal mode of operation for general cooking of food.
16385Defrost—This is a mode optimized for defrosting food.

ModeOptionStruct (struct)

This is a struct representing a possible mode of the server.

FieldNameTypeConformanceConstraintMeaning
0LabelstringMmax length 64Indicates readable text that describes the mode option, so that a client can provide it to the user to indicate what this option means.
1Modeuint8M—This field is used to identify the mode option.
2ModeTagslist of ModeTagStructMmax 8 entriesThis field contains a list of tags that are associated with the mode option.

ModeTagStruct (struct)

A Mode Tag is meant to be interpreted by the client for the purpose the cluster serves.

FieldNameTypeConformanceConstraintMeaning
0MfgCodevendor-idOdescIf the MfgCode field exists, the Value field is in the manufacturer-specific value range.
1Valueenum16M—Indicates the mode tag within a mode tag namespace which is either manufacturer specific or standard.

Cluster 94 Attributes

Cluster 94 defines 4 attributes plus the global attributes. Conformance: M mandatory, O optional, a feature code means "mandatory when that feature is present", square brackets mean "optional when …".

Attribute Details

Attribute 0 / 0x0000 — SupportedModes

Path example:

1/94/0

Exactly one entry in the SupportedModes attribute includes the Normal mode tag in the ModeTags field. The Normal and Defrost mode tags are mutually exclusive and must NOT both be used together in a mode's ModeTags.

AcceptedCommandList

The AcceptedCommandList attribute lists the command IDs the endpoint actually implements:

endpoint_id / 94 / 65529
{
  "1/94/65529": []
}

Before sending a Cluster 94 command, check that the command ID exists in endpoint/94/65529. Optional commands are only present when the matching feature is set in FeatureMap.

SmartphoneKey Notes

  • Cluster 94 is not currently exposed by SmartphoneKey devices. This page documents the Matter 1.6.1 specification so that future devices can be interpreted without changes to the backend.
  • Shadow paths follow endpoint/94/attribute; attribute values that the device reports as unreadable are written as n/a.
  • Attribute IDs, command IDs and enum values on this page come from the CSA Matter 1.6.1 data model; descriptions are condensed from the specification text.
